ANC’s deputy chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal and former MEC for economic development, environmental affairs and tourism is expected to appear at the Durban Commercial crimes court on charges of corruption and money laundering . The charges emanate from R28 million paid for a North Sea Jazz festival that was supposed to take place in Durban in 2012. The event never took place and it is alleged the service provides were paid. Mabuyakhulu is believed to have received a kickback of R300 000.
