En da arrest die Anti-Gang and Drug Unit die merchant!!!! Residents of Bonteheuwel have pledged to take back their streets, one-by-one. Neighbors in Jasmine Street staged a protest outside a home which they claim is a known drug den. The polices anti-gang Unit also swooped on the property at the time of the protest arresting a woman who the residents say is the main merchant. Residents of Bonteheuwel have begun street committees in the hope of retaking the streets from gangsters and drug dealers. Children were seen playing in the street while neighbours huddled in front of the dealer’s home vowing to squeeze the space that allows them to continue to sell drugs.

We as concerned residents just visited the family of Fatima….We have been told that she is on live support system…she can’t breath on her own…her heart condition is weak…she has internal bleeding and frankly it’s not looking good…She is in a coma…If she wakes up..she will be operated on in 36hrs…We ask the community to keep making duaa and pray for her recovery and for her family…We have also learned that she have a 7 daughter and that her mom is also very sick…May Allah Grant her mom and her shifaa…May Allah guide the hands of the surgeon if she should be operated on…and grant the operation to be a success in shall Allah

Yet another gang related murder has rocked Swartysterhout Street in Bonteheuwel.

It is believed that a 30 year man has been shot and killed.

His name is known to me but withheld until family have been informed.

Despite protest action earlier this week the gang war continues unabated.

At what point will we have our police resources and manpower increased in Bonteheuwel to bring peace to this area.
